What are the symptoms of acid reflux?

The most common symptom of acid reflux is heartburn. Heartburn doesn't mean you have reflux, it can also be caused by other diseases, including severe Candida yeast infection or overgrowth. Candida infection can cause a wide range of problems, including thrush, depression, skin irritation, heartburn and acne.

Acid reflux can be performed without heartburn and a range of other atypical symptoms may occur.

Acid reflux usually occurs after consumption, and symptoms can take up to an hour or two to appear, depending on what you eat, how much you eat, and what you do after eating. If you lie down, bend over or participate in physical exertion, reflux symptoms will worsen.

If you have more than two symptoms of acid reflux per week, you may have GERD [gastroesophageal reflux disease] and you should seek medical advice. GERD is caused by esophageal damage caused by prolonged exposure of the stomach contents to the esophagus.

Heartburn

Heartburn is characterized by a burning or restless sensation behind the sternum, which can also extend to the throat and neck. The burning sensation is the result of the stomach contents moving up through the esophagus [the tube between the throat and the stomach] into the throat.

Approximately 75% of Acid Reflux patients will develop heartburn at night.

Heartburn has nothing to do with the heart.

hard to swallow

The throat will feel a burning sensation or pain when swallowing, and the pain will become severe when swallowing food. This may also be accompanied by a feeling of a group of food stranded in the throat or chest. This is caused by membrane damage on the throat and damage to the esophagus due to excessive exposure to gastric acid.

Stomach upset or indigestion

About 50% of patients with reflux will develop stomach discomfort, which may be characterized by upper abdominal pain and distress, nausea after eating, excessive bel gas, and satiety earlier than expected.

Backflow

This is where the stomach contents [food, stomach acid and enzymes] flow back to the pharynx [the back wall of the mouth], sometimes even up to the mouth. This is usually accompanied by a bitter or sour taste in the mouth.

Asthma symptoms

It is characterized by wheezing, coughing and sneezing. Natural breathing is difficult. When you ruminate, acid or acid fumes will eventually enter your lungs, which can lead to asthma symptoms, especially in people with asthma.

Hoarse or hoarse

Your voice may sound harsh due to pressure on the vocal cords, you may have problems when you speak and find yourself needing to clean your throat often. If you are often exposed to stomach acid, the throat wall will also harden.

Yellow liquid or stain on the pillow

If you have reflux during the night, you can wake up and notice that there are yellow liquids or stains on the pillow. The liquid is usually stomach acid.

Many of these symptoms are just normal conditions that most of us often have at some point. Acid reflux becomes apparent when there are enough symptoms for the doctor to diagnose. Your doctor can test to confirm their diagnosis.

With natural remedies for acid reflux, simple changes in your diet are often enough to completely stop all symptoms of acid reflux.

Please double-check the short-term and long-term side effects of taking antacids and other acidic reflux medications, many of which may actually worsen your condition. The US Food and Drug Administration has issued a safety warning for prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors, which can lead to increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
