Can meditation cure cancer?

In 1980, Bernice Groeke was diagnosed with melanoma in her lower leg and she had been surgically removed. A year and a half later, the doctor found melanoma in the lymph nodes of the groin and surgically removed melanoma. A year and a half later, the cancer had spread to her lungs, and the doctor said it could not be operated. They said that there is nothing in medicine that can be done for her. She only has a few months of life.

Bernice decided to join a 12-week cancer self-help group. Shortly after joining the group, the discussion turned to the mentality of dealing with the physical pain and mental-emotional pain of cancer. Bernice never really thought about her mentality.

However, when the group discussed the power of mindfulness and positive thinking, Bernice quickly realized how often her usual mentality was negative. In fact, she has put her responsibilities on the alert and warned her family and friends of anything that might go wrong. On the other hand, she quickly warned herself and others not to be too excited about the new possibilities, because they are likely to end in disappointment.

Bernice realized that her mindset was the definition of a "glass half-empty" lifestyle. Therefore, after understanding the benefits of more positive thinking, she decided to change her habitual mentality. In order to do this, she decided to repeat "I am a positive person" when she recognizes her negative.

About six weeks after her new mindfulness and affirmation practice, she was sitting with her husband after dinner, when she practiced a melanoma that was uncomfortably pressed against her spine. Her husband noticed her excitement and asked what the problem was.

Bernice replied, "Maybe the doctor is right. Maybe I am just joking. Maybe I should accept the fact that I will die and give up all other things." [Page 275, MAIG]

Her husband expressed sympathy for her suffering and was aware of her new affirmation. Therefore, he replied: "Oh, this is fun, not just sympathy."

"What do you mean, what am I?" she replied.

"Oh, I thought you are an active person now," he said.

Bernice reflected on this and replied: "You are right, I am."

Bernis recalls that, as she said, she feels a clear shift inside the body, as if the switch had been turned on. From that moment on, she can see the positive side in all kinds of situations.

Shortly after this inner transformation, she meditated and prayed in the church and had a profound mystical experience of the existence of God. In this experience, she understood a sentence in the Bible: "Sit down, know that I am God." ". From that moment on, her faith has been strengthened. She found that healthy eating and treatment can be done more easily through meditation. She is also keen to serve others.
Within six months, the scan showed that her lungs cleared all tumors. And, within a year, to their surprise, the doctor claimed that she had no cancer.

Shortly thereafter, Bernice volunteered to talk to the Gaulle Foundation's meditation team and tell her stories about her. When she spoke, her radiance, her passion for life was full of appeal. Bernice became an inspiring spiritual force.
A few years later, her husband died in the late 1980s. Her friends and family want to know how Bernice will accept his death. After all, they have been together for more than sixty years.

Although she was sad and very sad, her flexibility made her surprised. She said, "Well, you know, Wain is really sad, I will miss him very much, but it will be very interesting... I have never lived alone before. Think about Wain again?"

Shortly thereafter, in order to help pay for the fee, Bernice received a student boarder from overseas. They soon became best friends. She found his life in Australia and saved her company and financial support. This is a wonderful new chapter in her life.

Then, in 2009, at the age of 93, her cancer disappeared 26 years later - it reappeared. This time, she quickly deteriorated.

At first she thought she was wrong. She went to Gaulle and expressed her disappointment with herself. Gault quickly reminded her that her recovery was very significant. She has not had cancer for 26 years. He reminded her that we are all dead - we don't always know why. He also reminded her of her beliefs.

Bernice admits that she has lost contact with her faith, and now she has some doubts and fears of death.

With the support of Gawler's words, Bernice decided to focus on the sacred existence and imagine that he would be integrated into it when the time was right.

Bernice died peacefully in less than a week. Moreover, her funeral is a happy celebration of her life. The family, friends and a group of people who moved with her smiling service celebrated her meaning to them.
